When making a report (note from the Panel Sec.)

Until a Report number is generated automatically or you’re given the option to print out your report I recommend making a note of exactly when you made the report(s), especially if you didn’t leave your name or have sent in details on more than one report.

Some of the new questions you may think unnecessary but remember this is a Hackney wide site. Some are there to help to get the report to the right person straight away so it can be dealt with quickly.

>><<

The scalable satellite map is presenting problems but we hope to have one at a later date so you can just put a mark on the map where the incident occurred.

Other than that I think it’s great. Of course, you will have an opportunity to give your views as the new site will have a formal period of consultation at some stage.

This site is being built by Hackney Homes so that later on it can be fully incorporated into the new “Universal Housing” software from Civica (see below) rather than the more “finished” comprehensive “bought in” site it might have been from the word go.  It should more than suffice, perhaps even be better as long as the associated new service standards are met.

>><<

Service Standards

Recently I was asked if the “confirmation… …in three days” referred to “what to expect” was from the date of the incident or date of the report.

It is from the date of the report and refers to CCTV footage.

You should get confirmation of your report the next day.

If there is CCTV footage you should get confirmation it has been viewed within working 3 days – ie within 3 working days

Hackney Homes, Pinnacle & the panel

2010 February 5

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Want to get involved or resolve an issue? . . . see further below

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

This site is to keep you informed of the work your representatives are doing on your behalf at the Clapton Panel. This panel is a neighbourhood sub-committee of the Hackney Homes N.E. Executive Residents Panel and is part of the resident participation program. There are two sub-committees in the north east, the second is the Stamford Hill sub-committee panel. The panels members are solely local residents, voted onto it by local estate TRAs.

As members of  the Clapton panel we do our best to speak on behalf of  residents in approx’ 3,570 homes in & around E5. If you are a Hackney Homes resident or leaseholder living in Clapton, this means you.

The Stamford Hill panel does the same for approx’ 3,803 homes in & around N16.

We regularly invite Hackney Homes & Pinnacle officers as well as local councillors and council officials to attend our meetings in order to ask questions and hold them to account. At our monthly meetings we have 2 reps from each of several local Tenants & Residents Associations and keep in touch with some 30 more.

We want to hear from you.

Help us speak on your behalf with some authority – tell us what you need, what you’d like and what problems you have now.

Email: claptonpanel@googlemail.com, write a message in “comments” below (we’ll get back to you), phone the chair (leave a message) on 07530 926 023 or get involved yourself.

See “If you would like to get involved…” further below.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

If you’d like to attend one of our panel meetings

Voice an issue or simply observe – you are most welcome. We have limited space though, so to avoid disappointment reserve a seat early – either with the panel secretary (David White) by emailing claptonpanel@googlemail.com or phone the chair (Mavis McGee) on 07530 926 023.

The panel meets on the second Tuesday of every month (with a break for August)  in Gooch House, Kenninghall Road, Clapton E5, starting at 7pm

* 9th February 2010

*9th March 2010 (Annual General Meeting)

NOTE: Don’t forget you must reserve a seat first. Some meetings are standing room only.

You can see the minutes of our meetings for the whole year on the “MINUTES” page.

The role of the panel and a more besides is available on the panel’s page of the Hackney Homes website:
http://www.hackneyhomes.org.uk/hhs-claptonpanel.htm

Hackney Homes office at 136-142 Lower Clapton Road is not a neighbourhood office, rather the office base for Clapton resident participation team, the complaints dept, youth projects etc, so does not deal with the everyday matters the Neighbourhood office at Clock House does.

If you think the lower Clapton Road office can help you I recommend you phone Clock House first on 020 8356 6500

Huge Panel FUN DAY on Sat 5th Sept – POSTSCRIPT NOTES

2009 December 15
by David White

We hope you all enjoyed the

Clapton Panel’s

Huge Community FUN DAY on Sept 5th!

We thought it went brilliantly.

Just enough visitors to finish off all the food – plus a few more.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the day.

The weather was just about perfect too.

(Photos further below)

“Outcomes”

Our primary objectives were to raise awareness of the Clapton Panel among Hackney Homes residents and to encourage estates without TRAs to form one, or a suitable resident to think about becoming a “Key resident”  and so have direct access to the EIB (Environmental Improvement Budget) and 184 (Resident diirected communal repairs & alteration) as well as being eligible to have representation with voting rights on the Clapton Panel.

Our other objectives had residents general welfare and access to Hackney Homes services in mind – to show residents some of the information, help and services offered by a range of organizations available to them.

We hoped and aimed for between 300 and 500 visitors.

As it turned out, with staff and invited stands we did indeed have around 450 visitors over the 4 hours of the event.
We did raise awareness of both the panel and the services and help available to residents as well as generating interest in the TRA & resident involvement system – gratifyingly from several younger (under 30) residents.

There is still work to do in “follow up” but even without it I think it’s fair to say that overall the event was successful enough to hold it again next year, perhaps even slightly bigger (certainly better with the odd organizational lesson or two learnt).

(D.White  Sec.)

Here’s the first panorama. It’s a little deceptive at this scale. Even early on there were quite a few people which you can just about make out on the tree line, in front of the stage and all the way to the food stands on the far left behind the pop-up.

If you click on the picture it will come up in a separate tab or window – if you click on it again it should come up full size…

…about 10 inches high by about 26 inches wide.
